WHO QUALIFIES FOR THIS CLASS: Salsa Dancers with at least 2 years of social dance experience, who can comfortable lead and follow double turns, stay on beat to the music constantly (on1), have a solid lead and follow technique, they keep the line and slot, and who currently feel comfortable on the dance floor or students have passed the OC Salsa Evaluation from Int to advance. Classes by OC Salsa Instructor Xiu Nguyen.
To maintain the level and quality of training , only students that qualify will be part of the training program (qualification stated above) . Every Class starts with a warm sequence using moves from OC salsa Beg to Int level syllabus ad techniques to make sure everyone is at the right level. Students who did not evaluate from Intermediate to advance level with OC Salsa ca consider the first day class as evaluation where the instructor will let you know after warm up wether you can join in the class or not.

No partner needed. The majority of students come by themselves so we partner students up at class. No Appointment Needed, just come in 10 minutes prior to any class to check in. Tues, Thurs & Sat classes are at Danscene Dance Studio, 2980 Mcclintock Way, Costa Mesa. Wed and Monthly Bootcamps are at Cafe Sevilla 1870 Harbor Blvd, Costa Mesa.

GOALS: To get intermediate dancers confidence and tools to grow as social salsa dancers through learning new challenging moves like triple & multiple spins, solo spins, barrel turns, variations, body movement, rhythm, musicality, styling while perfecting and improving lead and follow techniques.
NOTE: This is not a performance showcase team. This is 100% Social Dancing 2 hour ongoing class every Wednesday. No shines in this class, this class strictly focuses on partner work.
ABOUT THE TRAINING: The OC Salsa Advance training class will teach content and drills from the OC Salsa Syllabus. There are about 18 steps plus drill techniques for spins, turns, balance, body movement, lead and follow that will be implemented and rotated from class to class. All videos of the drills and syllabus will be available for students to access for support. This class is structured to cover all material and content over the course of 2 hours. Student wishing to participate on this class are required to take the 2 hours.
No special shoes or clothes required. Just the desire to learn and have fun.
Coming by yourself? No problem. 99% of our students come on their own. We partner students up at class.
We specialize in students with zero experience. Every dance class starts with a warm up, then we covers the basic dance steps and moves for Salsa & Bachata dancing over the course of 1 hour. The classes moves at a pace that is designed specifically for beginner to learn efficiently. We teach with a proven method of 10 b beginner steps and 10 intermediate steps (Salsa and or Bachata) that guarantees the student will learn how to dance. Classes
“What is the cost to join a class?”
Each group class cost is $20. We offer discounted 10 classes punch cards for $149 online or at the door OR PRE PAID HERE CLICK HERE . We also offer all inclusive classes and parties for $129 Monthly CLICK HERE FOR INFO.
“Where are you located?”
OC Salsa Venue is located at 16131 Harbor Blvd, Fountain Valley right between the 405 Freeway and 22 Freeways, limiting with the cities of Santa Aa, Garden Grove ad Westminster. The main intersections are Harbor Blvd and Edinger. .
What is the OC Salsa Syllabus?
The syllabus is a series of specific dance steps and techniques that are assigned to each class. Beginner Class Syllabus covers steps 1-10, Intermediate Class Syllabus covers steps 11-20 and Advance Syllabus Class covers steps 21-30.
All Beginner students start in Beginner Level 1 and they learn from the syllabus until the reach Beginner Level 3. That means that all 10 steps and techniques are divided within 3 Beginner levels. This way students can evaluate and move up to the next level. Beginner 1, 2 and 3 students all take the same class. Once ready students evaluate to move to Intermediate Class where we teach Level 4, 5 and 6 combined. Once again, students move up levels within the same class to measure progress and learn effectively.
From Intermediate Level 6, students evaluate to the Advance Classes where level 7, 8 and 9 students learn together. Advance Level 9 is the higher level offered by OC Salsa.
Do you offer practice dance time?
Yes, we do! We know that leaning how to dance is not enough. You need a friendly and non threatening environment where you can practice and dance without feeling judged or inadequate. After the last class of the day we allow students to practice for an extra there songs. In addition, every Friday we offer our practice social right after Classe sat OC Salsa Venue from 10pm-1am where we play salsa, bachata and cumbia ad students can dance and mingle. And for those more seasoned, we offer a weekly night club experience every Wednesday at Cafe Sevilla Costa Mesa from 9:30pm-12am (see our calendar)
Sign me up! What do I need to do?
For group just come in during class time, no appointment needed. We just ask new students to come in about 15 minute before the beginning of class to fill up new students form and to check in. That is it!
