What makes a great salsa dancer on the dance floor? This once a week program at OC Salsa will cover all aspects of Social dancing: Smooth Lead & Follow, Musicality, Body movement & Styling.
This program is designed to fast track progress by building the skills through repetitions and drills to get dancers and students of Intermediate Level the tools to Become and amazing Advanced Social Salsa Dancer.

WHO: All Intermediate Level Social Dancers wishing to improve and become advanced dancers. Directed by OC Salsa instructor Xiu Nguyen from OC Salsa.
LENGTH & SHOWCASE: There will be an optional students showcase at OC salsa Sunday March 15 where students can demonstrate their new acquired social dance skills .
DETAILS OF SHOWCASE: OC Salsa Students show case will be a one day event, with shows by the students and dancing after to celebrate and showcase the routines learned from each level. Students will be able to invite friends and family members Sunday March 15 2026. 6pm SALSA BEGINNER CLASS, 7pm-8pm Shows, 8-10pm Open Dancing.
WHO QUALIFIES FOR TRYOUT: Intermediate Salsa Dancers/ Students with social dance experience, who can comfortable lead and follow, stay on beat to the music constantly (on1), have a solid lead and follow technique, they keep the line and slot, and who currently feel comfortable on the dance floor ad looking to grow and became advanced.
REGISTRATION: :If you are interested TO COME TO THE FIRST FREE TRYOUT DAY. Text your name, last name and email to 949-813-0412 SUBJECT: OC Salsa Advanced Training w/ Xiu. You will then receive a text back confirming your registration. That is it! Please come to the trial first day 20 minutes prior to start.
If you are interested and qualify based in the requirements, please come to the trial first day. Registration needed, Come 30 minutes prior to check in for the First Day Trial . We start every practice on time.
To maintain the level and quality of training , only students that qualify will be part of the training program. Not everyone who tryout will qualify for the advanced training. However new training season will start once every 5-6 months should students wish to prepare and come to our next season.
FIRST DAY: The first day of training will be a regular practice day for students to see how the class training will be conducted.
Students will meet the instructor, meet each other and start learning the drills and moves that will regularly be done at every class while learning new moves/styling & shines. All students will be let know if they made the training program at the end of the first session.
OC Salsa is Dance School located in the City of Costa Mesa that teaches Salsa & Bachata. It was funded under the principle of bringing people together, providing the best possible dance instruction & adding the most fun into the students every day lives.
No partner needed. The majority of students come by themselves so we partner students up at class. No Appointment Needed, just come in 10 minutes prior to any class to check in. NOTE: This is not a performance showcase team. No costumes needed. This is 100% Social Dancing. There will be a Dance Exhibition (optional ) at OC Salsa at the end of the Season. Date to be determined.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: This program will open up once every 5-6 Months so students from Intermediate Salsa Level can join in once they are ready. Student who are selected to be part of the program will receive a detailed course syllabus of will be covered over the course of the training.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Has been dancing latin styles for 15 years including Salsa, Bachata, and Afrocuban movement. Xiu has traveled, danced, trained and taught all over the world from Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia to right here in Atlanta, Phoenix, Vegas, Salt Lake, New York, Chicago, and all around California. Xiu is also an accomplished Zumba instructor and well known in her city in Vietnam for bringing Zumba to Saigon and helping to build and pioneer the Salsa scene there. Xiu has been part of numerous LA salsa dance companies and teaches in the local community with regular classes in and around LA and Orange County. Xiu is a resident instructor at OC salsa.

We specialize in students with zero experience. Every dance class starts with a warm up, then we covers the basic dance steps and moves for Salsa & Bachata dancing over the course of 1 hour. The classes moves at a pace that is designed specifically for beginner to learn efficiently. We teach with a proven method of 10 b beginner steps and 10 intermediate steps (Salsa and or Bachata) that guarantees the student will learn how to dance. “What is the cost to join a class?”
Each group class cost is $20. We offer discounted 10 classes punch cards for $149 online or at the door OR PRE PAID HERE CLICK HERE . We also offer all inclusive classes and parties for $129 Monthly CLICK HERE FOR INFO.
“Where are you located?”
OC Salsa Venue is located at 16131 Harbor Blvd, Fountain Valley right between the 405 Freeway and 22 Freeways, limiting with the cities of Santa Aa, Garden Grove ad Westminster. The main intersections are Harbor Blvd and Edinger. .
What is the OC Salsa Syllabus?
The syllabus is a series of specific dance steps and techniques that are assigned to each class. Beginner Class Syllabus covers steps 1-10, Intermediate Class Syllabus covers steps 11-20 and Advance Syllabus Class covers steps 21-30.
All Beginner students start in Beginner Level 1 and they learn from the syllabus until the reach Beginner Level 3. That means that all 10 steps and techniques are divided within 3 Beginner levels. This way students can evaluate and move up to the next level. Beginner 1, 2 and 3 students all take the same class. Once ready students evaluate to move to Intermediate Class where we teach Level 4, 5 and 6 combined. Once again, students move up levels within the same class to measure progress and learn effectively.
From Intermediate Level 6, students evaluate to the Advance Classes where level 7, 8 and 9 students learn together. Advance Level 9 is the higher level offered by OC Salsa.
Do you offer practice dance time?
Yes, we do! We know that leaning how to dance is not enough. You need a friendly and non threatening environment where you can practice and dance without feeling judged or inadequate. After the last class of the day we allow students to practice for an extra there songs. In addition, every Friday we offer our practice social right after Classe sat OC Salsa Venue from 10pm-1am where we play salsa, bachata and cumbia ad students can dance and mingle. And for those more seasoned, we offer a weekly night club experience every Wednesday at Cafe Sevilla Costa Mesa from 9:30pm-12am (see our calendar)

For group just come in during class time, no appointment needed. We just ask new students to come in about 15 minute before the beginning of class to fill up new students form and to check in. That is it!
