Whether you’ve never taken a dance step in your life or you already have some moves and want to refine your skills, this event is for YOU.
This unique bootcamp features three separate classes happening at the same time, each in its own room, so you can learn at the right level for you — all taught by world-renowned instructors who know how to make learning fun and easy.
What You’ll Learn
Beginner Level – Perfect for those with zero or little experience. You’ll learn the essential steps, basic turns, timing, and lead/follow techniques that are the foundation of salsa dancing.
Beginner/Intermediate Level – Ideal if you already know the basic steps and turns and are ready for more. You’ll explore fun patterns, turn variations, and styling to boost your confidence. Every month different theme (Check description bellow)
Intermediate Level – For dancers who have mastered the basics and want to advance their timing, technique, and combination work. Expect more complex moves, spins, and partner work to take your dancing to the next level. Every month different theme (Check description bellow)

Beginner2 /intermediate Level w/ Cedric & Ingrid
12pm Connection & Frame Fundamentals:
Understanding tension and elasticity in the connection.
How to establish a comfortable yet responsive frame (for both leaders and followers).
Drills to improve communication through hands, arms, and body tone.
Exercises to recognize and adjust pressure (light vs firm lead).
Common mistakes and corrections for smoother lead/follow transitions.
1pm Timing, Signals & Reaction Techniques:
How leaders give clear, intentional signals (direction, momentum, and timing).
How followers interpret and respond without anticipating.
Using body weight and preparation instead of force to lead.
Musical cues: understanding breaks, accents, and when to initiate movement.
Partner drills focusing on reading and reacting quickly to subtle signals.
2pm Partnerwork Patterns with Connection Focus:
Applying lead/follow concepts to short partnerwork sequences.
Transition drills: from basic turns to cross-body and open position combinations.
How to maintain connection during spins, breaks, and open patterns.
Practicing flow — making transitions seamless and musical.
Final group exercise and social dance simulation emphasizing comfort, connection, and fun.
Intermediate/Advanced Level w/ Jhesus Aponte
12pm Afro-Cuban Body Movement & Fundamentals:
Warm-up with isolations (torso, shoulders, hips, arms).
Breakdown of Afro-Cuban rhythm structure and connection to clave.
Learn fundamental steps and body motion of Rumba (Yambú, Guaguancó).
Emphasis on grounding, weight transfer, and polyrhythmic body control.
Drills to feel the music and understand the conversation between percussion and movement.
1pm Afro-Cuban Body Movement & Fundamentals:
Study of male (“vacunao”) and female (“coqueta”) dialogue in Guaguancó.
Integrate call-and-response energy into partner dancing.
Practice short sequences combining rumba movements with modern body flow.
Exercises on how to lead and respond with Afro-Cuban flavor while maintaining Salsa timing.
2pm Applying Afro-Cuban & Rumba to Salsa Partnerwork:
Fusion drills: inserting Rumba body language into Salsa shines and turn patterns.
Partnerwork combos blending traditional Salsa patterns with Afro-Cuban flavor.
Timing and styling variations (on1/on2 applications).
Group practice & mini-performance challenge integrating all learned elements.

OC Salsa Invites you to our 4 Hour Salsa Boot Camp with 3 Level Classes & 9 Amazing Teachers. FREE FOR OC SALSA MEMBERS.
Beginner Level will cover basic steps & turns for those w/ zero or little experience
Beginner/Intermediate Level is for those who know the basic steps and turns and are ready for more.
Intermediate Level class is for tose who mastered the basics, timing, turns and techniques and combinations and are ready for more.
This 4 hour class will also have a BONUS 3 1/2 hour Dance Social from 9:30m-1am at OC Salsa 2980 Mcclintock Way, Costa Mesa, so you can dance and practice what you had learned. This Social will be free for those taking the Bootcamp ($15 Value).
No Partner, special shoes, clothing or experience needed. For those coming for the first time, you can truly learn how to dance the basics in 1 Day.
